If losing weight could ever have been enjoyable then the time spent with Sarah over the last 11 weeks have been encouraging, enjoyable, enlightening and so worthwhile. It has encouraged me to look forward to walking, increase my fitness levels and achieve my original aim of losing weight. I am delighted to reveal that I have lost 15 inches from around my body too.

When I came to Sarah I had had some bad health issues and I was beginning to develop asthma as well as getting pains in my feet. I couldn't bear the thought of being ill again.
I now walk just 30 to 40 minuts a day and I am convinced that this alongside eating nutritious low GI food is the key. The most important thing is that my body is healthy - no more painful feet, no asthma. My body fat ratio and BMI have both come down to within the normal range. My fitness levels are great and I look and feel "normal".
I still have to pinch myself as I can't quite believe that I'm now a size 14, not a 20. It's the most wonderful feeling and I can't recommend it enough!

My experience of walking for weight loss:
Profile: Female, 62, smoker, enjoy wine, widowed, overweight.
Incentives: General well being and trips to Australia to visit child and grand daughter
Actions: Few, play golf twice a week, more social than fitness
Hates: The Gym
Have tried: diets, weekly weighs in and exercise classes
Found Sarah: Works for me, a regular exercise regime, a mentor, one to one by appointment, no hanging around.
How was it for me? Amazed at my ability to adjust my lifestyle of eating and not drinking, but also so commited to the exercise, just walking energetically everday for 20-30 mins made me feel so good. I was disappointed that given the sacrificies I had made the weight loss wasn't comparable. But that was compensated by how well I felt.
I would recommend this program to anyone. Even if we can't do it everyday! We can try!

My sister said, “you are going to pay someone to go for a walk with you?” in incredulous tones, but Sarah Liveing’s programme is much much more than that. Knowing that I would be weighed regularly was certainly a spur to my pride, but actually the discussions during the walking have had the most impact on me overall. Sarah has made me think about food, how and why I eat, and how to get into a new way of managing myself. I don’t feel I have been on a diet, but that I have made a fundamental change to my eating habits – and hopefully the resulting 2 stone 5 pound loss (actually more than the babyweight I had gained) will stay gone forever! Thank you Sarah for your help, it has made all the difference.

I did enjoy walking before I met Sarah, but from my first walk with her I realised that I was capable of walking much faster than I had been used to, and Sarah had many tips for making my walks better exercise for me. My fitness level increased and I began to enjoy my walks even more. While we walked we talked about healthy eating and some of the background to how I had come to put on weight, which was helpful to me to think through. Walking gets me out in the fresh air, which I love, and costs nothing. Because I can walk almost anytime anywhere I feel much more in control of my fitness.
